PARTICIPANT HANDBOOK

Able2’s Participant Handbook provides participants and their carers with essential information about their rights and responsibilities. It gives important information, not only about what a participant should expect when they use Able2 services, but what their rights and responsibilities are when receiving support from all service providers.

This handbook promotes and safeguards people’s rights, including

  • choice and control
  • respect and identity
  • safety
  • involving others and advocacy
  • privacy and confidentiality
  • making a complaint or giving feedback

NDIS INFORMATION

The vision of the NDIS is to provide individuals and families with more empowered choice and control to select the services and support they require to achieve their individual goals and aspirations. The NDIS funds what is assessed as an individual’s reasonable and necessary support needs.

Able2 is a registered Provider of NDIS supports.

The National Disability Insurance Agency administers the NDIS scheme. You can find an enormous range of information on its website: https://www.ndis.gov.au/

Whether you are just beginning your NDIS journey, or you are looking at exploring new options for supports, Able2 is able to support and assist you.

Covid Safety

Able2 has been adapting and changing our policies to respond to the pandemic and we work to protect the wellbeing of our staff and clients.

To ensure our clients, visitors and staff remain safe, we have taken extra precautions and change the way that we operate some services. We are listening to NSW Health and following their advice.

Cancellations

We understand that you may need to cancel your service. If so, please tell us as early as you can. We can change the service to a time that suits you better.

We know that people are anxious about services and we continue to explore options to make them more flexible and in different formats. If you are thinking about cancelling or changing services, please talk to us first as we may have some options that work for you.

How to endorse able2 Plan Management or service with the NDIA

If your NDIS plan is on PACE (the NDIA’s new computer system),  You must now endorse Able2 as one of your NDIS Providers. This means that the NDIA now requires you to officially notify the organisations that you will be engaged with your plan.

Participants and plan nominees can add their endorsed providers easily in two ways:

Option 1 – via the NDIA 

Contact the NDIA National Call Centre on 1800 800 110 and advise that you would like to endorse able2 as your plan manager and/or plan provider.

Option 2 – via your “My NDIS contact” – could be a Local Area Coordinator or Planner

Contact your Local Area Coordinator/Planner to advise that you would like to endorse able2 as your plan manager and/or plan provider.

Important Information:
However you choose to endorse able2, please make sure to follow these tips:
  • If endorsing able2 for plan management – Ensure to endorse able2 as plan manager (not plan provider).

  • Make sure to use the start date of your current plan as the start date of your endorsement (this will allow us to process any invoices from within your plan).

  • Have the person on the phone confirm that the endorsement is complete (the process should be instant).

  • Endorsements can only be completed by the participant, their nominee or their guardian.
What Should You Say to the NDIS to Endorse able2?

When you call NDIS (1800 800 110) you can say something similar to..

“I’m <my name> and my NDIS number is <ndis number>.

I understand my plan is on the PACE system, and I would like to endorse able2 as my plan manager and / or service provider for <service>. (Note: services may be one or more – Support Coordination, Behaviour Support, Support Work, Counselling, Therapy, Early Childhood Intervention)

Able2 NDIS registration number is 4050047813

Please endorse able2 from <plan start date>, which is the start date of my current plan.

Can I confirm that the endorsement is complete?”
