The Therapy team at Able2 provides support to children, young people, and adults. Our team consists of experienced registered counsellors and psychologists. We work in a person-centred, neuro-affirming way to meet the needs and preferences of each client, including the use of art, sand tray and play. Our counsellors are experienced in being able to tailor a person’s therapy to their unique communication, social, emotional and developmental needs.

Our therapy team can support you with:

  • Multidisciplinary assessments for Autism
  • Assessment for ADHD, Cognitive Functioning, Functional Living skills, behavioural and developmental concerns
  • Regular therapy sessions to assist with issues including anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, trauma, grief and loss, self-image, relationships, conflict, school avoidance and any other issues that affect a person’s ability to experience life the way they want to
  • Play, Sandtray and art therapy to support young children who have experienced trauma or attachment issues
  • Mental health assessments and support
  • Specialised EMDR therapy for individuals who have experienced trauma or who have PTSD
  • Managing complex needs, including dual diagnosis, forensic disability and FASD
  • Understanding a person’s diagnosis, including Autism- to build identity and self-confidence
  • Strategies to support someone you care about who is struggling or needing support
  • We support anyone in the community, not just NDIS clients

Emma Donlevy
EMMA DONLEVY

Registered Counsellor - Manager Therapy Team - Clinical Lead able2

Emma has postgraduate counselling qualifications and is registered with the Australian Counselling Association. She has significant experience working with children, young people and adults across NSW as well as in remote First Nations communities. Emma cares about the person in front of her and what they need and want. She is particularly passionate about supporting people who have complex and diverse needs as a result of trauma. Her understanding of complex mental health issues includes developmental and attachment-related trauma, dual diagnosis, grief, loss and anxiety and forensic disability. Emma works creatively with individuals to listen, understand and support them, using a range of evidence-based strategies to best a person’s needs, such as DBT, sand play, art, play, trauma-informed brain-based interventions and motivational interviewing.

Registered Psychologist

Mel has a background as an educator at a school for autistic students and as an Early Intervention Key Worker, supporting young children and their families within a trans-disciplinary team. Mel offers a compassionate and holistic approach to supporting children who experience a range of challenges including,

  • school attendance difficulties
  • situational mutism
  • demand avoidance
  • learning difficulties.

Mel works collaboratively with clients to enhance wellbeing using a therapeutic approach drawing from ACT and DBT. Mel is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity affirming support.
Mel offers neurodiversity affirming cognitive and diagnostic assessments for children and young persons under the age of 16.
Mel engages in ongoing professional development with a particular interest in learning from neurodivergent individuals with lived experience.
In her free time, Mel volunteers with Assistance Dogs Australia as a puppy educator.

Mel is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner and Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) as a psychologist.

Kate Houlahan

Registered Counsellor

Kate is a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming counsellor based in the Blue Mountains. She has postgraduate counselling qualifications and has over 10 years of experience working alongside people in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, and remote First Nations communities. Kate works with children, teens, adults and their families/support systems. Her counselling approach integrates evidence-based therapeutic techniques and tools depending on an individual’s presenting needs and concerns, including elements of Person-Centred, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy. Her aim is to create a safe, supportive, client-led space where she can encourage and highlight an individual’s strengths.
Kate is registered with the Australian Counselling Association.

Tiffany williamson

Registered Psychologist

Tiffany is a registered psychologist (MAAPS) and Behaviour Support Practitioner with qualifications from La Trobe University, University of New England, and Edith Cowan University.
Tiffany is trained in EMDR therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, The Westmead Feelings Program, and PEERS social skills program for young adults.
Tiffany has a passion for supporting children and families with disabilities, autism, anxiety, depression, and those who have experienced trauma.
Tiffany is passionate about working with neurodiverse families, across a range of cultural backgrounds. Tiffany works to support children and families to reach their full potential by understanding their strengths, identifying and working collaboratively on their challenges, and supporting clients to enjoy fulfilled lives.
Prior to completing her studies, Tiffany lived and worked in East African communities in Tanzania and in the United Kingdom.
Tiffany is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner and Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) as a psychologist, and is registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Fiona Burrows
Fiona Burrows

Registered Counsellor

Fiona’s mission as a counsellor is to support and empower clients to understand and express their emotions, overcome difficult life situations and challenges. She works from a client centred, strength-based approach to assist clients to create meaningful change in their lives.

Fiona has extensive experience in working with clients with a range of disabilities and complex communication needs. She is skilled in adapting her style to meet clients’ communication and emotional needs and to create a safe space to build a strong therapeutic relationship.

Fiona has a Masters of Counselling and is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and is registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Our counselling services are typically provided in Able2’s offices, however online counselling can be provided via Zoom or in other places apart from the participant’s home.
